Fallen Peas

A recent examination of a drill of young Kelvedon Wonder pea shoots revealed that a number (not all) of their stems  were "broken" at ground level. Would this be due to slugs, mice or some other pest ? Slug pellets are being used in the vicinity of the peas!

Slugs might have nibbled the stems making them flop over.  I think mice are more interested in the actual pea.  Slugs munched the stem on some of my marigolds and sunflowers.  gggrrr

Could it be wind damage.?? sometimes happens before they have time ti cling to supports

The stems are actually severed and I don't think the pea shoots are long enough to suffer from wind damage, they are only 6cm (2.25") high and in a relatively sheltered area, plus the fact that it seems to be a couple here and a couple there sort of thing  :(

There is also a baited mousetrap in among the peas and this has not been  touched :'(

mine were the same until I put a couple of mouse traps in the row, caught a nice big mouse the following day

Sounds like slugs to me. They've just done the same to my sweetpeas and marigolds. Pass the salt please.
