More edibles in flower!!!

I have one flower on an Oregon Giant Pea plant and my dwarf french beans are in bud. They are both still on my windowsill. eek. Do I need to help them germinate?

I can't put them out yet as the bed still isn't ready. (And the sieve broke at the weekend, so it's had to be put on hold until I buy a new, better one!)

Also my strawberries have been in flower for a couple of weeks. I keep forgetting to tell you all!

Our strawberries are flowering too.

My strawberries are beginning to flower, the earlier ones, is it Flamenco ?  They only went in earlier this spring I read you should remove the flowers the first year, does this encourage them to concentrate on growing bushy plants and (more importantly!) does it mean I won't actually produce strawberries until next year ? ???

Littleweed - I think the theory is that it allows the plants to establish better. If you remove flowers, you won't get any fruit this year. I didn't with mine in their first year and the fruits were rather pathetic. Still, I don't think I could remove the flwoers with new plants!

Aqui, you don't want them to germinate, you want to .....oh what is it called........hell, a week away and I think I must have left my brain on the Island!!!!  I believe french beans are self fertile so you don't have to worry - that is why people grow them in polytunnels and such.  My strawbs are all in flower also and the bees are in abundance!  Your peas can be outside now, mine have been out and growing for weeks and weeks and are coming on strong!  If the bed isn't ready, can you not just plonk the pot outside somewhere while you are waiting?  It will slow the plant down, and will be ready when you are.
