She is lovely.  Wish we could keep hens.  When the children were little we got a little Rhode Island Red chicken from my sister who kept a field full of free range hens.  Our hen lived with us in our garden for eight years and was a real pet.  She used to follow me around the garden when I dug it over to eat the worms too. She laid regularly, but we had to watch  her as she used to steal into the kitchen when the door was open to eat the cats food.  The children named her Henley because we lived in Reading at the time.  She had a huge personality for a hen and the cats were very wary of her, despite her little size.  We were all very sad when she died of old age.  :( busy_lizzie

Thats an old age Lizzy for a hen did she still lay ? We don't have names for them because shes got seven sisters and they are a bit hard to tell apart. Although i'm noticing different personalitys, this one likes to follow me waiting for me to start digging.

She is adorable !   :D

I'd like chickens but don't have the time to look after them but my mate has got some more today (one promptly sat on by a turkey and squashed) but now loads of eggs and she has enough to keep yours truly supplied as well.  All those eggs without the work.   ;D
