I think it happens with a lot of catalogues not just seed catalogues.  They just put there name and info to a standard layout.

A little bit of info for you:

Westland own Marshalls and Unwins, Fothergills own dobies and DT Brown (and Fothergills) and took their ideas from Marshalls when they tried to buy the company a year ago! So it's not suprising that they look the same.

In addition, the suppliers of seeds and live plants are the same for all of them, so it is likely that the images will be the same

T & M and Suttons are stand alone, but all read each others catalogues and pinch ideas

And you thought you had consumer choice!

I haven't had a catalogue from them in a couple of years but Chiltern seeds used to be quite different, you might like to give them a whirl.

Watch out for T&M - so much more expensive than the others.

Don't forget about Edwin Tuckers, Simpsons and Kings. Much much cheaper (and small, independent companies).

One reason for Dobies was the good advice that is always available. And, at one time, one of the smaller English suppliers. Or so I believed??

Didn't know about Suffolk Herbs. Combinations don't necessarily make bad suppliers, but I've always had a leaning toward the 'independents'.
