Blueberry question

I have grown blueberries for the first time this year. I bought two plants at the same time, put them in identical plants with the same compost. They are standing next to one another and have had the same watering and feeding but one has produced lots of fruit while the other has produced very little. Is it just the luck of the draw? And what should I do to try to get the poorer one to do better next year?
