Oddly enough still not enough water

Went to plot the first time this year and the lake beside us is still very short of water.
It is no where near full two swans were standing up in it.  This time last year it was really full.

Why should this matter?  It possibly means that the entire water table is low.

Well I am towards the top end of the Thames so everyone from me to London might have a problem if we have another drought.   Thames Water have 15 million customers.

I am not convinced by some of their figures.  Seems the SE has had 95% and SW 97% of Long term averages over the last 12 months.  I really do not quite sure how that happened.  We had about 6 months with hardly a drop of rain.

Some spots within an area are notorious dry spots, perhaps in rain shadow, while other parts of the same area can be very wet. Underground reserves never hit bad levels in the SE, even after the hot summer - which is why we had no hosepipe ban.
Locally the river is now at high level, even had a little localised flooding over the last few weeks, so I think the SE corner report is correct.
