I thought I'd Tiger-proofed the border but he still manages to squeeze into the tiniest places.  He gave himself away today!   ;D  ::)  ???  G x

Georgie that did make me chuckle ;D  He is such a character.  I think you must carry a camera with you at all times to get the pics you do.  Whenever I see Merlin in a position which would make a great pic, he's either moved by the time I've got my camera or just as I'm about to 'click' he comes running towards him ::)

Georgie

I knew you'd like that one.  Half wondered if Tiger had invited Merlin over for a game of hide and seek.   ;D  And I so agree.  Cats (usually) only do cute things when your batteries have run out etc.   >:(

I've spent a happy half hour looking through this thread! We aren't allowed a cat in our flat (though my GF is working on trying to persuade the landlady!) and Gobbolino, her grey-and-white 3-legger has to stay up in Scarborough rather than joining us in Bristol.
However, shortly after getting our allotment, I saw a fluffy grey-and-white cat - I didn't see it again but, from then on, we've been visited by a friendly tortoiseshell almost every time we go up.
Here are some pics of it from my blog:

One theory is that the grey cat was checking us out on behalf of the tortoiseshell. Another one is that the field manager is a were-cat, because the cat always appears just after he's left the field!
It's a well-trained cat - it's careful not to tread on our plants, though it tries to rub itself on the can while I'm watering, or on my hand whilst I'm chopping slugs: I have to be careful not to drench or stab it!
Happy gardening and catting. (I wish they ate slugs and pigeons rather than songbirds)

I have a cat called Kylie and she is 16 years old.   She was never a very friendly cat and was adopted by my Mum when she was 2 years old.  My Mum loved her very much but was not over demonstrative with physical contact.  They both came to live with me in 1998 and just before Mum passed away in 2002, she was always asking if I would take care of Kylie should anything happen to her.  There was no question about Kylie's future for I was pleased to continue to look after her.  She became more affectionate and I am now able to pick her up and cradle her like a baby.   ;D

The first photo was taken a year or so back and the second one today.  Kylie seems to have aged quite a bit inbetween but only to be expected.   She has a good appetite and can still get around.  She doesn't go very far these days and I can always see her from the house.

The last photo is of Kylie having a cuddle from Meggie.  ;D   ;D

Georgie

Hi Pauline, what a fine cat Kylie is for 16.   :)  I envy you being able to pick her up and cuddle her - neither of my two will let me do that - just one of the many reasons why I still miss my Fletcher.   :'(

Merlins Mum

A very beautiful cat to be sure paddyx, and how nice she graces you with her company :)

Paulines7, I think Kylie looks like an elderly kitten in the second photo,  it's a lovely pic but my favourite is the last one.  I so love to see cats and dogs being friends.

Georgie I hadn't realised you couldn't pick up either of your two, perhaps I should send Merlin for only a weekend you understand so you can have some cuddles ;D

Georgie

You're on!   ;D   ;D   ;D

G x

Dances round room singing 'I'm getting Merlin' like the mad cat woman that she is.   ;)

Merlins Mum

Hang on a minute, I haven't asked if he would like to go into his cat basket yet ??? :o ???

Georgie

Drat and double drat.  Foiled again!   >:(  :P   :'(

Spook trying out the rabbit run   ::) ....  and through some flowers.

Georgie

Aww bless him, he's not sitting on the rabbit is he?   ;)  And don't those carnations set off his coat to perfection?

Paulines7

He's probably eaten the rabbit! :D ......just joking.  Lovely pics Heldi.

Merlins Mum

He is a handsome boy Heldi.  It's nice to see him all white, no dirty streaky marks ;D
Paulines7, Spook would never be so naughty as to eat a rabbit, ahem. ;D  I think if a rabbit is part of the family then the family cat generally seem to view them differently to those they find wild, well mine did thankfully.  In fact they used to play in the garden together, it was lovely to watch :)

MM

Heldi

He does play with the rabbit ! I've watched him and he is very soft,no claws out and he tumbles about with her...in that pen! I don't let the rabbit wander too much as there are plants poisoness to her. I reckon the rabbit would give him a nasty bite if he got too much for her. She goes up to him first though, everytime!  Wouldn't trust Spook with the guinea pig ,he gets to have a sniff of him when Sweets comes indoors but that's all.

For all Spook is really mean to the dog...jumping on her when she isn't looking and that sort of thing,he really misses her when she goes away on her hols when we go camping. He looked really lost without her last weekend, she was only away two nights and we were back the first night because of midgey attacks. Dog doesn't care a jot though.she loves going away, she gets to play out all day and only has to go into the kennel last thing at night, infact she comes home for a rest! When Spook sees her,he jumps on her!  Funny how attached to each other they get  :)

 ;D

Pauline, lovely cat! Don't know if it's just me, have noticed how elderly dogs go grey around the muzzle, never happens to cats! Is it like baldness and men? These are the kind of things that keep me awake at night...need to get down to the lottie more...
