planted sweetpeas today 14/3/15

I planted my sweet peas today Sat.14th they were sown on October 8th so as to get a good root system. I usually start picking around 21st May.

Hopefully it all depends on the weather etc. when I won the cup last year it was 40 years since my name went on for the first time. You can see some of my flowers on my blogsite.

These are some of my sweet peas on 14th May, I will miss our usual first picking date but they should be ok for the first flower shows. A lot of seedling weeds after the rain.

Picked the first real bunch yesterday, could have sold them twice while on my way home from the plot.

Just been down to plot to cut ready for flower show tomorrow. I get them to the show by having put sand I the bucket , then push the vases into the sand and this keeps them upright.  Here's  hoping the judges like them.

Many thanks for best wishes the judges must have been impressed, I won the sweet pea cup with the 3 vase class and the sweet pea medal with the vase of 10 second honeymoon. The mixed vase got a first prize just to keep up. I now have to leave them to their own ways as we go away on Monday for 8 days.
