The very first picture of the allotment, the cold frame sits approx.in the middle of the width of it (260m2 total) but it's gone now. They are rented out clean and any structures on them have to be bought from the previous owner. Behind the shed is a canal (the Britishers amongst us may call it a ditch) and on top of the embankment runs a railroad track.

One greenhouse and new shed roof later. Vandals left four windows of the greenhouse whole last winter.

Approx. two thirds of the lottie is flower garden (you can just see the shed roof top right)

This is the quarter of the veggie plot that grows the rabbit goodies, hence the rabbit proof fencing.

:-[ No thanks Eric, the allotment keeps me well occupied, that and my job but thanks for the nice words, Teresa too. Yes, the lottie looks a bit different now from when we first got it. Having no garden where we live, we spend almost all free time there but not working all the time mind you. One of the three sitting terraces (if one can call the small paved areas in the flower garden that) often has us sitting, reading and enjoying the allotment. I have to admid, at times it does feel like a lot of work, especially the flower garden seems to take a lot of time to keep nice. All in all, it's a joy to be there. -Ina

Wow!!  That's a fantastic looking lottie!! You're really lucky.

Hoping my new lottie will look like yours in a few years time  ;)

Hi Clare. Glad you like the lottie but ehmmmmmmm, is lucky the right word? I'm lucky that I am healthy and can keep up the lottie yes. It is long and hard work a lot of the time but the enjoyment I get out of it is ten times as much. I don't want to sound ungrateful but I would consider myself lucky if I didn't have to hold a job (I do like my work but I don't live to work, I work to live), have my health and could go to the lottie anytime I want to. I do understand what you mean tho'. With hard work you will also have a nice lottie, anyone can. Greetings, -Ina

Nice looking plot Ina ! - I wish I was allowed a shed  :(

You are not allowed sheds at all in your complex BB? In our complex we are not allowed to put up any structures or plant trees in the first year while you are an aspirant renter. After a year the commitee decides if you can become a member. Putting up a shed or greenhouse is subject to very strict rules and you have to submit a building plan first. -Ina

Our plots are for growing only whereas the one's down the road are multipurpose - A lot of people on the multipurpose ones grassed the whole plot and installed "holiday-home" sized sheds - hence the ban. I'm only allowed a storage box of a specified size.

- as I've said elsewhere, for what it's worth - Clint & Ina have developed the most wonderful botanical garden - in which they also seem to grow, to perfection,  all the most desirable things to EAT !! - Tim

Ina - what a fab plot - your flower garden is inspirational!

I have a plan to provide such a space as part of my No 2 plot.  Mainly to attract beneficial insects, but as a sight to cheer the soul also, when having a quiet lean on the spade!  If I make any progress, I'll post a pic next summer.  Still no rain here, so no chance of cracking on with the digging yet....
