A lot of opticians will try and sell these "varifocals" for folk who really just need reading specs or bifocals. Varifocals cost a fortune and can make you carsick til you get used to them. And they're no good for gardening: impossible to focus on your feet/fork while digging!

Claybasket where is your branch!! I've never come out of spec savers for less than £250 plus.  They don't have frames that cheap for a start.  And I have very plain ones, with a fizzogg like mine you don't draw attention to it.  What I want to no is why they can't reuse the frames in this country but can send them abroad for others to use free of charge.  Rip off Britain yet again.

I get both my contact lenses and glasses from Specsavers, and pay£10 per month for the lenses and £60 for my new glasses. OH went to Boots as an emergency because he managed to break one set of glasses and lose the other , and was not at all impressesed. They changed his prescription a lot compared to his eye test the year before at Specsavers, his new glasses meant he could see a mile away put not the dangerous power tools he used for work at arms length away from him! He went back to Specsavers and was sorted for a third of the price...
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
