Wasps nest

Whats the best way to get rid of a wasps nest on my allotment

I think wasps naturally die off in the Autumn. I haven't seen any around here for a while, if you are still getting problems with them are you able to wait a little while for them to die off naturally?

Although they can be quite a nuisance at times they can also do a lot of good around the plot/garden.

We had a massive one in our communal shed year before last and we left it alone.  They die off as soon as the frosts come on leaving the queen so there doesn't seem much point in killing them off esp now as we are so close to Winter...

Yep...they are now on their last legs and should disappear from their papery home. Wasp don't 'live' in the nest once last of their young ones have come to adulthood.
I was just called to get rid of wasp nest today...and even I tried to convince over the phone that there is no need, they wouldn't believe me. Sooo...I drove there...had a look..and told that there is nothing to be done and nature will take its course very soon...I opened the window and let few 'stragglers' out and job done ..with the advide if any more come out ..let them out.
The nest was some where within building cavity that is totally hidden.
Another happy customer as pest control would have charge them over £200 for 'fumigating' the premises  I suspect it would have been 'easy money' for them for wafting bit of smoke around the room and knowing that the wasp would die/disappear within few days anyway.
