how much is advertising costing you

Last night I settled down and watched a film on the telly, I thought it was a bit long and this morning I checked how long it really was, ( I know, get a life) 35 minutes out of the 3 hours was advertising. Using a calculator as I have not got that many fingers. It works out it is costing me £4 a year to watch adverts I have no interest in. Add the leccy it costs to host adverts on your computor and  another couple of quid can be added. Now multiply that by all the households in the country and it adds up the a medium size country's national debt. Just think how many wind turbines are needed to make the leccy used.

Now it is not beyond todays technology to be able to tailor the adds to the viewers choice, like they do with Add Choices on t'internet. Then instead of watching some poor sod dying because I won't give him £3 and that stupid welsh barsteward trying to go compare I could see adverts for my local pub/massage parlour/beer adverts etc. instead and think my £4 well spent.

:laughing7:..you have too much spare time..
Yes your right..adverts are too costly, there is too many of them, many of them waste of time and money and majority of them irrelevant for the those who see them :BangHead:
Watching telly is actually quite expensive way to waste time..having to pay licence, leccy, equipment and subscription, after all that you would think we could choose if we even want to see any adverts..BUT NO..no such a option :cussing:

Add to that all the costs of advertising which we ultimately all pay for in the costs of goods and services and it would be a whole lot more.
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

Except for the news I record all the programs I watch and skip the ads..  Now I realize I am using 2 lots of leccy.  Made my day that has. :BangHead:
