Or it might turn into ...............?

This late it's probably a toad. They breed later than frogs, in deeper water, and it could have been confused by the weather. It's a rather high-pitched piping call.

There is an invasion of very vociferous frogs which have come in on imported aquatic plants.  They "sing" very loudly and all through the night and, round here, carry right on into mid summer...........

When it's warm enough to have the windows open, I can here them from ponds over 1km away and last year they arrived in the pond across the road in the paddocks and I suspect this year we have them in our own pond.   Lovely.

I will do a straight swap for seagulls.  On second thoughts if i can hear them then i know i haven't croaked during the night
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

What species is that, Obbelix? I see you're in Belgium, and I'm not up on continental amphibians.
