Fresh Herb Wholemeal Bread

Fresh Herbs are a perfect compliment to Cheese,and this crusty offering goes really well with a bowl of Lunchtime Tomato Soup.

INGREDIENTS

15g of Fresh Yeast
300g Wholemeal Bread Flour (Granary Flour optional)
150g Strong White Bread Flour
1tsp salt
Pinch of sugar
2 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Curly Parsley
2 Tbsp Chopped Mixed Fresh Herbs,Mint,Thyme,Rosemary,Chives
(Combine the Herbs as you prefer)
1 Galic clove skinned and crushed
2 tsp Clear Honey



I like to combine both flours but Granary flour does make a slightly lighter mix.

Blend Fresh Yeast with 1/2 pint of warm water and sugar and set aside for 15 mins till mixture is frothy.



Meantime Chop all the fresh Herbs and Garlic and mix with both Flours,salt and stir together.

After 15 mins add honey to yeast mixture and stir.

Now add Yeast mixture to dry flour and combine together to form a sticky dough.

After 5 mins put dough mixture onto a floured board and kneed for 10 mins.

Place in an oiled bowl and cover with a clean cloth and put into a warm room to rise for 60 minutes.

Once dough has risen remove dough to a floured board and knock back for a further 5 mins.



Roll into a 16cm x 10cm  long loaf and place on a baking tray and leave to rise again in a warm room for 30 mins............



or as my alternative today,I used a circular cake tin,butter tin walls and place dough into a circular shape and proof for a further 30 mins.

Heat oven to 230 degrees(210 fan) and cook for 10 mins then reduce oven temp to 200 degrees(180 fan) and cook for a further 15 to 20 mins.



Remove cake tim from oven and set aside for 10 mins to cool.



Remove outer cake tin and cool further.



remove from cake tin mould and cool on a wire rack.



slice cooled bread .



Serve Herb Bread Grilled with Cheddar and Mozzarella Cheese and dunk into Hot Tomato Soup......Delish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Equally tasty served with Strong Cheddar Cheese and Red Onion
