I am so thrilled as I finally got some good sized cauliflowers! The poor things have been over wintering in all this miserable weather but they came through eventually. I got 4 of them, a smaller one was given to my neighbour (As she kindly gave me perpetual spinach in the autumn and gave me a taste to grow some this year!)
We ate one yesterday and it was delish.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Well done.  So satisfying to grow and eat your own produce.

Lovely caulk, you should be proud  :icon_cheers:
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

It's lovely when you get the over wintered caulis! they are such a nice surprise after the winter and early spring when there is not much to crop.
Looks like a good one :icon_cheers:

Yes, it has a really fresh flavour, not so peppery as some you buy! odd really. I was bowled over, but we have had lots of rain!

I went to clear my overwintered brassica bed a couple of days ago, and was amazed to discover a few purple cauliflowers had survived and were growing....small but perfectly formed!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
