shallots in a barrow

I  have an old wheel barrow and thinking of planting shallots in it to save space, would they grow o/k

Shallots (like most alliums) have a fair old roots system on them when they're in active growth, I doubt you could plant that many in there and expect them to crop well.... maybe 8 inches apart or so.... a bit closer if you're growing plants raised from seed of course....
