I fancy doing day trip to Whitby..yes, not quite tourist time of the year, but hey ho..
I've been trying to find some info from 'official' sites regarding dogs..but nothing...
So I would anybody know if Whitby has restrictions for dogs on their beaches.. particularly in town.
Amber has never been on sea shore and would be fun to include little stroll on beach while walking around town :toothy10:

I found this - http://www.wonderfulwhitby.co.uk/beaches.html - second beach allows dogs all year.  West beach they're allowed from September to end April.

See this for other Yourkshire beaches - http://www.yorkshire-east-coast-unofficial-guide.com/yorkshire-coast-dogs-allowed.html

Have fun and don't forget to have fish and chips in Whitby.  They're the best.

I quite fancy a trip this weekend but as the cold wind is blowing from the east..it might be 'touch' too trying weather for a sea side...but then again..we might have beach for ourselves :glasses9:

You'll need a strong constitution to face Whitby at this time of year!!

As Obbelix says dogs allowed on beaches between Oct and April.

Have some fish and chips for me at the Magpie - best in Whitby!

And the most expensive- I've never yet been bothered to queue when there are so many other chippies. The "humble pie and mash shop" on the other hand...yummmm!

almost every shop in whitby has a water bowl out side the door for dogs to drink out of and its a really dog friendly town and the magpie now has a takeaway downstrairs
The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are,

Lol...there must be more to Whitby than fish and chips....
...though one cannot say no to good 'stuff' when the smell hit the nostrils  :icon_cheers:
Actually...I saw program "Ade in Britain" (or something along those lines)..where he visited Whitby and did bit of  beach strolling looking some jet....so I though how nice it would be to take our 'hound' to see sea and poke some seaweed while walking around...and maybe even find tiny little treasure of my own and to put it on my little 'treasure box' amongst other 'pebbles' that has found their way in my pocket.
Well..I'm going to keep eye on the weather and decide in the last minute if we do the day trip over the Easter.
Dog friendly town sounds good...

If you fancy calling in for a cup of tea on your way, I'm in Tadcaster and I'm on holiday on Tuesday!
