Don't do pancake Tuseday here - not my favourite food - and don't do Lent fasting either.

Belgians have their pancake feast at the beginning of February to celebrate Chandeleurs which marks optimism at the half way point between the depths of the winter solstice and the advent of spring with the equinox.    Needless to say it's another old pagan feast which the church hi-jacked as the presentation of Christ to the temple.

Good feast for gardeners I reckon.

Love pancakes.  Do a great thing with a mixture of buckwheat and cornflour so they are wheat free.  Lovely with lemon and a tiny bit of sugar.
