Does anybody have any recommendations for soil free compost. Not too pricey as I need a lot. I have heard that West Riding Organic compost is good has anybody had experience with this and know where to get it?

Gardening Which tested composts last year and recommend New Horizon Organic & Peat Free Growbags (same as the New Horizon Peat Free Compost but works out 1p per litre cheaper) it still comes in at 5.7p a litre. (it was called J Arthur Bowers)

B&Q own brand Organic Peat-Free did not much worse and is only 3.6p/litre (when bought as a grow bag)

But no peat-free composts did well as seed compost

First attempt disappeared.

So far, very pleased with the consistency of Moorland Gold (mined peat free) & West Riding Organics' MG derived compost.

Expensive & as yet untested. We shall see!

I've struggled for the last week to get calls returned/order confirmed/paid for...just about given up on them...

P.S. I'm also searching for organic soil-free compost. The only sensibly priced alternative I've found is these guys http://www.fertilefibre.co.uk/

No idea if they're product is any good, but the prices get better the more you buy, with free delivery too...

Anyone else use them?
