Our cats have their own shed

Shirl came up with the good idea of our allotment feral cats having
a shed of their own.

Felix has his own bank account (yes, really) so he allowed us
to withdraw some money and we bought a brand new shed.

Shirl and Tone put it up and painted it on Friday and Saturday.

Cats Protection very kindly donated some Cat Palaces and bedding
for them.

We've put the shed behind the pavilion, next to the new greenhouse.

Does Felix paws (pause) when he writes his cheques?

It's good to know that they will not be left out in the cold.  Have they grown used to it yet and are they sleeping in it?

cornykev

I think they've just had a few cat naps so far.

I know they are using it because there are paw prints on the bedding,
but not sure whose they are.
We haven't fitted a cat flap yet but they do go in and out of the space
quite comfortably.  I don't know if they will be able to use a cat flat, is it
something they will just work out?

Photos of Felix and Psycho tucking in, and Psycho peeping through the door.

Psycho/Calico  - you love her really!?!  She is huge.  Does the new shed mean she is 'hunting you down' a bit less when you are at your plot?

Lovely photos

I have to admit that I have grown quite fond of Psycho now. She obviously loves me so how could I not love her back? :love4:

She knows the sound of my car and runs over from my plot where she is 'based' to wherever
I park.  If I leave the car door open she is inside before I can stop her.  When I get out she practically attaches
herself to my feet which makes walking very difficult so I have to carry a brush around with me
so she can rub on that, rather than on me.

She is quite chunky isn't she!

Borlotti

Be interested to know if they use the cat palaces, as in the past I have spent money on cat baskets, seats that hang on radiators and scratch posts etc. etc.  My cats looked at them and never, ever used them.  Dulce likes his towel on the kitchen floor and a cupboard box with a cut out in the side and no top, as he hates being confined.  Dulce slept in the plastic greenhouse amongst the charcoal that I had put in there, and came in filthy dirty, his white paws were black and when I washed him he scratched my face and hand.  They normally find their own places to sleep, but the shed seems a good idea, especially if we get all the snow that is forecast for this weekend.  I have found a cardboard box and old towel or blanket good and cheaper than cat palaces, what very spoilt cats.
