Well I never thought it would come to this I am now in a mobility scooter its the only way I can get around as I cant walk very far, I fear I may have to give up the allotment after 34 years on the plot, p.s digging is a no no.

any ideas how I can continue with the allotment.

Can you take 'helper' on your allotment to share the plot in exchange for your knowledge and part of the growing area and some produce...as long as they do some of your physical work?....perharps in future they can 'inherit' all of it when you are ready for retirement?

Oh Jim, I really feel for you, it must be heartbreaking.
As your plot has been dug over and cared for maybe you could move onto a no-dig method, hoeing regularly keeps the weeds down?

Sorry to hear this news.

I was wondering if your site has a disabled gardening area?
If not maybe if there was a local demand for a wheelchair friendly growing area it could be something you could get your teeth into and be involved with so as to keep your connections with the site and also passing on your invaluable knowledge.
