My JA's are about 8ft tall but haven't flowered. Will this affect the harvest?

Mine didn't flower either this year. I shouldn't think so.
Flighty's plot,  http://flightplot.wordpress.com,  is my blog.

In all the years I've grown them, I've only one had flowers, and they've always produce far far more than we can ever cope with!

There are no flowers on mine, I took out one that had just got in completely the wrong place and there are loads of tubers. Yes, I know, it'll come back there for ever more.....

Thanks for the replies. Good to know I should still get roots, but I've cut the flowers for the house in previous years, so it's a shame they didn't show this year- another victim of the poor summer, I guess.

Mine are flowering now but my allotment neighbours congested row that my tubers came from are three feet higher but without any flowers.

It could be that spacing them out in fresh soil has given them a new lease of life.

Good to hear there should be plenty of tubers for the winter. :happy7:

BAK

Ours have flowered the last 3 years but never did in the previous 5!

I have not noticed any difference in yields.

My neighbour has no flowers and they are 8 feet tall. tbh they are an absolute pain as she put tubers in right up to the edge of the grass path, that she never cuts but always leaves it to us. I do like the taste of them but fartychokes get no houseroom in my kitchen
