holidays - sweden?

All this wintery weather has made me think that I should look into booking up our family holiday.
Thinking about Sweden, but would like any advice as to how to have as happy and relaxing holiday as possible with a 5 yr old and a nearly 3 year old.

On the Sweden front, who knows about cost of living there? have heard it's expensive - but surely not more so than here?

I went to Sweden 10 years ago - beautiful place, but it is expensive, more than here I think. Although I didn't actually "stay" there, I was interrailing and did the overnight trains - one had a cinema on (and a few youth! hostels in Norway). Not sure what there is for children, but if you go to Finland, there is Moominland - I loved the Moomins  ;D
There is a railway museum north of Stockholm which I went to, as well as an aquarium in Stockholm. I also managed to go to the botanic gardens where there was a large water lily (or something).
Food - I remember the yogurts were especially tasty.

I've been a few times for work, latest was to Stockholm last November. Actually i was surprised that it is not now so overpriced - I guess London takes the biscuit for that.

Stockholm is very beautiful- a whole series of islands - and there is a lot to visit. Even in snowy November! Swedish friends tell me that it is very popular for the holiday season.

People are very friendly, and though I have no experience in this, I'd guess they were pretty 'child friendly' .
