Update on my new plot

I was given the go ahead last week to start on my new plot. I was told that I would be left with a greenhouse for £50.00 due to the previous holder changing his mind so I`m looking for a replacement in the local adds, I don't mind because I can get one to suit my needs. Part of the plot hasn't been dug for over ten years but it is very clean as there have been chickens and ducks on it for that time so there is no weeds just plain very black earth. I turned the undug part over on Saturday and its like Christmas pudding, dark and very rich. I have set up a compost area and the shed that was left there is huge you could hold a barn dance in there it 12ft X 18 ft and dry. Its full of straw and chicken droppings which this morning I shall be cleaning up and putting on the compost area. Next week I hope to start my leaf mould stack made from old roof battens. The area which had been cultivated was left perfect and rotovated. I feel very lucky also I met all the lads on Saturday and what a great bunch they are - far different from the ones on my old allotment. They are not selfish indeed they over whelmed me with their generosity and  offers of any help that I needed. They are out to help each other which to my mind is exactly what allotments is all about, All I have to do is put the plot to bed for the winter. I have to pop to my old site later to collect the couple of chairs which are still there and that's will be it.I shall put photos on  to show the progress as it goes on later
