No sprouts

My sprouts are not sprouting.  Nice big plants several varieties.  They have been fed with chicken manure pellets and watered.  Any suggestions please.

We've got a late autumn, they won't start sprouting until it gets a bit colder at night on a regular basis... and looking at the long-range weather forecast, that's not due for a couple of weeks yet...

Last year I harvested my first sprouts on 31 Aug but this year looks like they wont be ready for another month or so at least.

Looked at mine today amd one plant broke near the base.It seemed as if my tie had been cut with scissors.
Retied the rest as they had cut into the stems.

One plant came easily ot of the ground-no sign of fly or worms.Of the other plants the sprouts formed well and now have `blown` open. We are sure that the plants were well heeled in.
Any ideas please?

I agree with the poster who said the sprouts will not be ready at least another month yet. But at least there will be some to pick as last year they all blew.

That could be because last year I grew an open pollinated variety in looser soil but his year an f1 type in compacted soil.

The plants chewed off at he base are likely to be cutworms, That too happened last year.

All was not lost though as the spring greens those sprout plants grew were excellent.

I think I had sprouts by this time the last couple of year. Looks like I am being too impatient as usual.  It has been very dry here in the last few weeks.

I do not need them at the moment inundated by beans.  We had a lot of blown sprouts on site last year, there are some varieties which cope with lighter soils better.

My sprouts are showing but small, which is about the usual time as you say ed ibles last year they all blew. Has anyone had trouble withcab white this year? I religiously went around destroying eggs but in the last two weeks must have killed a thousand caterpillars, the tops are more like lace.
