Using soapy water on veg?

Hi everyone, have had a very dry spell here in Kent & all water butts empty. I am on a water meter so was wondering if I could  use soapy water from doing the dishes on my veg or will it taint the taste? I was thinking of using it on swede & turnips as I won't be eating the leaves but I don't want to be eating soapy mashed swede in a few months time  ;D
I use the original green fairy washing up liquid because it is the only one that doesn't upset my skin but I suppose Ecover or a similar more environmentally friendly one would be better for the veg????

Hi Cornykev I think you are right, the more I thought about it today the more I put myself off the idea....clean expensive water metered water it is then for the veggies until it rains......such an odd year for growing, was dying for  earlier in the year now I need rain  xJane

Not for use on veg according to the RHS but okay for other plants see ....

I used to use a basin of soapy water on the lawn to force the worms up so that I could collect them for trout bait. They clearly don't like it so I wouldn't put it anywhere that I want worms to be.
