I've got 2 aubergine plants in the greenhouse. They are about 12-18" high, quite bushy with loads of flowers, but they just won't set!!

There are loads of bees and hoverflies in my greenhouse pollinating my tomatoes and peppers, so I can't work it out.

Has anyone got any tips!

Mine too are slow like that and they are outside! I can only think it is the weather. The peppers however are most successful: out of all those "tender" plants they seem to be the most adaptable and resistant.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

I misted the flowers on my plants have two big juicy fruits in the conservatory but they have puckered bottoms probably down to poor watering regime.

Maybe we need to go over them with a small paintbrush? make sure they are being pollinated?
I love the aubergine flowers, they are among the most beautiful of the veg IMHO.

Maybe it's just the weather. I might try the paint brush though. I have noticed that earwigs seem to like hiding in the new curly leaves. Will they do any harm?

Mine have been really slow but I've finally had a few start to set, hopefully a couple more too as loads of flowers, fingers crossed  :)

After 4 years of never getting a flower to set I have given up on them this year

I've got loads of tomatoes and chillis in the greenhouse, but still not one bloomin aubergine, despite all the flowers.

Mine seem to set no problem despite a lack of insects. Mine are in a small plastic greenhouse crammed in with 4 tomato plants. It's hot and humid. I think that the humidity is very important in the past I tried to grow one plants on it's own without any success. Last year I got lots of fruit came first with a pair of aubergine s at our show. I'm not getting as many this year but the growing season hasn't suited them until recently. The slugs have eaten quite a few as they form...they seem to love them.

Mine were doing really well, big healthy plants, setting fruit. Then the leaves turned yellow and limp and keeled over. It isn't RS Mite... I've seen that before. Do they, as solanums get Blight?

Sorry David - no idea! I gave up on growing aubergines after having no success three years in a row.  I just googled and found this though -

Sorry, don't know, anything attacking the roots?

Well here are my 2012 Aubergines - I'm sure they are supposed to be bigger than this at this stage? ???

Kea

Debs, your pots look too small. My aubergines are in large growing bags and they have a huge root system. My tomatoes next to the aubergine got blight but didn't affect aubergines at all.

Absolutely agree with Kea on this.

I had a "glut" of aubergines - something I never would have imagined - but mine were in open ground inside the greenhouse - they were transplanted from pots that size in may ... the roots they have grown are huge - spreading about 3 feet from the plant stem in all directions.

I think if you were to grow them in containers - you need at least a 3 gallon pot to get any decent results from fruiting.

Aubergines do seem a bit late this year-mine are just starting to swell-it`s my birthday this day next month so I hope I have some decent ones by then.

Mine flowered, then just sat there, big healthy plants.........they are now on the compost heap.

I lost patience! :BangHead:
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
