I sowed some teasels for the seedheads a couple of years ago and now the clump has got too big so I'm going to dig some of them out. The leaves are so big I thought they must make good compost, but before I just chuck them in the compost I wanted to check if they have any other uses, particularly as they are quite prickly.

Digeroo

The National Trust uses them to put on antique chairs as a subtle hint not to sit on them.

;D Sadly i don't have any antique chairs, but maybe I could use them to deter rabbits? (I presume this is the heads rather than the leaves)

artichoke

I have watched them being used to comb/fluff up woven or knitted tweeds (Edinburgh woollen mills).

And goldfinches love them.
