Dahlias

I have ots of dahlias grown from seed and in need of potting on. I'm thinking of putting them staright into patio pots but keeping them in the greenhouse/coldframe. What spacing should I use to get a good display without cramping them?

Most seed sown varieties spread to 2 ft+ (600mm) so really you don't want to be any less than this, and they want to be in at least 8" (200 mm) pots.
