........the contents of a growbag & general purpose compost?

I ask because I have a brand spanking new greenhouse which I planned on populating with growbags and assorted edible goodies.

However, my local Focus is selling 300 litres of general purpose compost for £10 which seems too good an offer to pass up.

If there's no difference between the growbag and the compost, the compost will win.

Will be interested to learn. But at 1/2 the price of the cheapest grow bag, it seems too good to miss?? Assuming that it is said to contain balanced fertiliser

But what is it made from? Things like bark compost are not always easy for certain purposes.

Growbags usually contain sedge peat, this has a fairly poor texture for seed sowing, it breaks down into a sludgy mess eventually, OK for digging in/adding to the compost heap but I wouldn't use it as multipurpose compost. The nutrient balance would favour full grown plants too probably a high level of potassium for tomatoes and other fruiting plants
