Senior carrots

Has anyone grown this variety before? I'm trying to get a winter/spring supply sorted out but I don't know how fast these will grow. The instructions say sow Mar-July, harvest Nov-May. If I sowed them in July would I be expecting not to be eating them until May? Or does this mean they'll be ready in autumn but will happily stand in the ground until May? Confused.
