I suddenly got a bing bar.  Now my home page has changed and I cannot reset it.

My button to get to hotmail has disappeared.

I cannot tell you how annoying it is when something suddenly decides to change my settings.

They don't change of their own accord, they change because you ask them to whether or not you're aware of it!  Nowadays, when you install/upgrade/update almost any software on your machine, it will install (in my experience) either Bing or Google search UNLESS you uncheck the tiny box.

To get rid of Bing, you need to uninstall it: Control Panel ->Programs and Features -> right click on the Bing line and choose Uninstall.

Then in IE to reset your toolbars: Tools->Manage Add-Ons->Toolbars and Extensions and choose the toolbar you want then the next option down Search Providers allows you to set your search back to whatever it was before.

I am sure I probably clicked on something but it is very annoying when things suddenly change.

I have now found out how to get my home page back to google.

I luckily still have my tomato symbol for A4A which amuses me.

I now have managed to hide bing but it keeps on popping up again.

Meanwhile hotmail has suddenly decided to put my flagged items before my inbox.

It is difficult enough for me to readjust things.  I do not do it that often so forget how to do it.

My other half lost the ability to read when he had a stroke and when things suddenly change it can take hours to reteach him how to use it again.

Yes, IE is mostly rubbish, I am on Firefox for years and it's very reliable.
Your Bing thing may be in the actual Windows programs - have a shufty in Control Panel - Add-Remove programs and if you find it in there, uninstall it. Then it will stop giving you grief.

Or buy an Apple Mac?

I gave up with IE years ago, and used Firefox. But now I've got a proper computer. And when OH's PC gave up the ghost earlier this year, she bought an Apple laptop.

Many thanks for your comments.  Seems I am not the only one who gets frustrated when it decides to change things round a bit.

My next cause for complain is Hotmail.  They have put the flagged items at the top of the inbox and reduce the size of the font.
Did I want this to happen no I did not.

What would I want a super sized bing bar that reduces the size of my workable screen.

And I have discovered that Amazon has managed to put a key onto my yahoo bar, what a cheek.
