Some friends of mine were recently burgled.
Unfortunately the previous owner of their house paved over their garden.

Is it possible to grow bramble in pots so it can go on top of their wall?

Also what cultivars would people recommend?  I would suggest Himalyan Giant.

An Himalayan Giant  like Sylvan will root down into the smallest gap... open one up and let it root under the patio...  :-X

Could you grow them in a pot?

Wouldn't bramble be better?  Himalayan giant is really nasty.

I read that one thing burglars avoid is rickety trellis, which you could attach to the top of the walls and possibly grow rather prickly roses along it, as roses do well in pots.

Kiftsgate is a devil - had to cut mine down and kill it because it was killing me trying to prune it, tearing me to shreds. Should be more controllable if in a pot, and the flowers are lovely. Also Rambling Rector.

Have heard an amount of dog poo spread along the top of fence helps.

Roses  smell better though.

£30 buys a close circuit camera nowadays. Not that they give a good picture but the scrotes think twice about breaking in, and move on to easier pickings.
