This summer I grow some really lovely chillies, orange one, red long ones, red mini ones and black ones, whilst fresh they were wonderfully spicy, I have dried loads and they have gone tasteless  :-\any ideas why that mights of happened?

The heat ends up in the seeds IIRC....

Pescador

To really develop the flavour they need hot growing conditions as well as their genetic potential.
As we didn't  get much hot weather this year they are unlikely to be as hot as they could be.
I have exactly the same problem with a variety that was fairly hot last year, but this year is very mild

Wasn't a great year but my Ring of Fire, Peach Habanero and Dorset Naga don't seem to be any milder than usual...  :-\

I just did a recipe that called for one chilli but it tasted so mild I put in two. The second also just tasted like a bell pepper, and the dish only had v mild taste. However....I didnt wash my hands well enough afterwards (normally fanatical cos it hurts so much) and am experiencing strong irritation in lots of places I wish I wasnt!
