Seed needs to be fresh so now! but they take a while to be flowering plants- is it those you need for next year? what variety are you talking about?

I've sown cyclamen only from fresh berries..I wait until the berries are starting to split and then just collect them and start chucking them about. Eventually there is tiny little cyclament 'babies' everywhere..these are easy then lift and re-plant or pot on as needed.
'Winter' flowering cyclamen berries are usually ripe for sowing following summer.

i luuurrrvvee cyclamen :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* (one of my top 10 faves) for their fragrance and their elegance. i bought a packet of seeds once but then i must of forgotten about them. months later, they reappeared but realised i was out of the sowing period - duh ::) my corms were always grown in pots so i've never allowed them to set seed as I wanted the flowering period to go on longer. Do you think if I put some fresh seed in this yr, they'll propagate in the same pot, or do you think I should pot them up individually?

I've had corms for the past 10 yrs, and every now and again, I repot them and they look ginormous! ;D

If you have some seeds..I would sow them all in same pot..but they are slooow to germinate. Small seedlings are easy to separate..they don't have much roots to start with.

thanks ace for the picky, the the balls are hanging on the flowering end of the plant like a marble surly this must be a seed ball? :-\

I believe fresh cyclamen seed takes a year to germinate. I tend to leave them to self-seed, and seed I've bought has taken two years. They sound like seed capsules, but are they ripe? They go dry and open out when ready. The way you describe them, it sounds as though they may be unripe; the seed is set one year, and ripens the following summer. As Goodlife said, it's a slow process!

I have found some berries on my cyclamen in the conservatory.I have deseeded them and put them in warm water for a day.Tomorrow I am going to sow them and see what happens.
