Fireworks are driving me mad

I had a rant about this two years ago and said how my dog Graham was terrified of the noise.  Well, it's not a problem for him now because he is going deaf - but I'm not and they woke me up at half past midnight last night.  :o

It sounded like bombs were going off outside my house.

I long for the days when Bonfire night was Bonfire night and that was it.

Our two retrievers (long since gone) would go nuts and poor Tyson the younger one would claw at the carpet almost demented and he was such a placid little chap.
For some reason this year they haven't been too bad,perhaps it's the cost?

My Clover and Kettle aren't too bothered, but many creatures are scared out of their whits.  I'm sure a nice big bonfire would do just as well.
