Let us know what happens when it starts to melt, Glyn!

Wow - spectacular but frightening at the same time. Made me think about the recent tsunami but in a different perspective. One was an active wall of water and this one is frozen.
Take care.

My uncle lives by the shore of Lake Huron near enough to Kincardine, and has mentioned this happening from time to time.  I think it's more prone to happen after Christmas than before.  I've only seen one or two small pictures of it over the years.  It looks good her though Glyn.  Lived in Toronto one year till Feb '90 and the coldest I felt was about -15.  -5 felt mild compared to it. Walking around Saturday afternoon in a teeshirt!!! Tomorrow at maybe 10c I'll be wrapped up like a Michelin man!!!

I always wonder why the weather forecasters say something like "it'll be cold tomorrow at XXXc, so wrap up well". My question is ...if they give the range of degrees why say it's going to be cold. Or if they say it'll be cold why give the temperature???

anyway, liked the photos Glyn

This is what it looks like in summer.
To create that sort of deep freeze it had to drop to almost 35/40 - Celcius, + more with windchill. Brrr...I love it

Wow Glyn! What amazing pictures. I've just shown them to OH who said "I guess it's cold there then". Keep warm!!!
