Growing Carrots

How many times have I read 'How do I grow straight Carrots?', in the past I have prepared my Carrot bed with sharp sand and given it a good going over with the Mantis, well for an experiment next year I'm going to prepare the ground in the same way but  I will be making ridges to put the Carrot seeds in, which I hope will be better for the Carrot,  :)
