They look lovely Anja, did you go on the ferry, can't see them gettting passed as hand luggage at an airport ;)

I did fly..but I pre-cooked the mushrooms for minute or two first to reduce the amount of water and to get them into smalle space...but even after that they weighed 5kg.. ;D
Customs wasn't any trouble..and I took a 5kg pumpkin to my mother..as a suprise.. ;D ;D..so the weight wasn't issue neither.. ;D ;D

Hope you got through customs ok, someone may have thought they were magic mushrooms ;)

What will you do next with them. :)

goodlife

'magics' look totally different...luckily.. ;D
All my 'mushies' are in freezer...packed away in small portions for easy use. They are really strong flavoured variety so just a handfull goes long way.
Now I just wait winter to arrive so I have time to spend in kitchen and make all those yummy dishes that I've been longing for.. :P
Customs is rarely problem withing EU countries..providing you've packed things into right luggage and its legal what you are bringing..over the years the stuff I've managed to pack into suitcase has  supprised even myself.. ;D I go over with just essential bits in case and I fill it up with goodies to bring home.
This time I bought 16 packets of various seeds..majority of old heritage types...carrots, peas, beans, turnips, swedes, cumbers, tomato..etc..etc..
3 different old garlic varieties..one Russian, one Lithuanian and one Finnish origin
some fresh chillies to use and harvest some seeds too.. ;) One is new variety Aji Fantasy..'white' chilli, sweet and fruity and mild for eating raw or stuffed. It first variety that is bred in Finland that has plant breeders rights...lovely seeds though.. ;) ;D
And I have some more seeds to come that I've ordered but couldn't get while I was there.. :-X
Oh..it was a good trip.. ;D

Hope you had enough time to spend a bit with family, or are they seed -a -holics too ;D

goodlife

Oh, no..no seedholics in our family other than me..I did drag them along with me.. ;D At least they got to see shops that they didn't know existed.. ;D

It sounds like you had a great time  :D aim of to tomorrow to Turkey with lots of seeds for a friend, and will be bringing stuff back can't wait ;D

goodlife

Oh, have a good one.. ;D Don't forget to rummage local food markets..you never know what you find in those.. ;)
Mind though..I'm not sure what the customs rules are when you are coming from Turkey.. :-\ But if you collect any seeds from 'fresh' stuff before hand it should not be as 'bad'.. :-\ Not that I encourage any smuggling..

I'm away for 3weeks, we do the markets love the spices !you can bring 5packets of seeds each back legally we hope? ;D sometimes we noisy in local gardens if the owners are there, people are so kind, anyway if we get stopped with to many seeds we'll just give them a donation for the favorite charity ;D ;D ;D see yous later we hope! ;)
