Our long parsnip and big carrot

We have grown a few parsnips and carrots in long tubes/pipes, just for fun really

because I wanted to see if we could grow really long ones and get them out

without breaking the root (we still managed to break the carrot root).  Here's a

couple of photos of what we have managed

up to now, there are still 2 carrots and 3 parsnips growing, but we are going to

leave them a little longer.

-I'm happy if it looks like it's supposed to and tastes good.... but....!

I'm grateful if they actually grow!! If they taste good and look good that is a bonus!!  ;D

Well done - your carrot is a healthy-looking brute isn't it! 

The parsnip would have won at our competition I think, ours was 26 1/2", did you measure yours?

The parsnip measures 39 1/2 inches!!!  :D
