Hi All,

Well i have a massive sage plant and would like to try and save some of the leaves to use in stuffings etc over the winter. Any tips on saving these?

Thanks

Cam

Have you tried picking a bunch and hanging upside down to dry.

Every year I pick loads of leaves, open freeze them then scrunch into a bag, but I never use these because so far my sage always thrives through winter and I just pick as I need. Even last year when it got down to -13 here it survived. You'll get a different textural effect drying, but that works too.

Hang it in bunches to dry or freeze leaves as above.. i've done both this year as it is the first year my sage plant will be left outside for winter so have harvested some just in case... i am assured it should be ok outside... so we'll see..
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... (over 10 ton per acre)    2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..      see my web blog at...  http://www.gavinconway.net

I wouldn't bother freezing or drying. I've always used it fresh from outside, even last year.
