Does anyone make their own tomato feed.  Last year I just used either home made seaweed fertilizer, comfrey or a touch of potash in the water.  Doesn't seem to have worked so well this year.

Yes I do..comfrey leaves, seaweed liquid, some chicken pellets and/or punch of nettle leaves...all left to brew until its un recognizeable slurry...all that is then drained from 'solids' and its ready for 'action'.

Yes :D

I have  general mix with all above, hos muck, household liquid fertiliser, chicken and pigeion poo. This is high nitrogen.

Then I have a pure comfrey one for high potash feed.

Dilute to weak tea colour, and INHALE ;D ;D ;D

I do use it almost every day though- on the toms.

I pile comfrey leaves around the base of the plants and just let them rot down as I water.

Are you thinking the same as me?

Well if you think of wee..that would be best added as fresh to final diluted mixture when about to do the watering.
If stored the 'household fertilizer' will turn into ammonia and can be bit unpleasant for the plants....and the smell will get your eyes water..rest of the stuff is pongy enough as it is.. ;D ;D

yea wee wee lol i made some nettle brew never added household fertilizer that goes on the compost heap but the brew stunk at first loads of flies around it uck but now the smell is gone so using it freely
