Thornless Blackberry cuttings

What's the best way of taking cuttings?

I know you can bury one end of the growing stem in a pot and it will root, but I am moving house quicker than I thought and a friend has asked for a cutting.
So I need a reliable way to root a cutting another way.

Look at the base of the plant..is there anyway you could dig bit up with root attached..then cut the the stem short..eventually it will sprout new growth.
Other than that you could just chop green bit of stem..pull the leaves off from the nodes that are going to be in compost and leave just one set of leaves on top.
I'm not very confident it would work..but if you are in hurry there is not much other options left.

Blackberries root wherever they touch the ground, so you could try layering. Take a low-growing stem, weigh it down with a brick or something, and leave it for a few weeks.

Yes cuttings root but not easily so make several and be prepared for some losses
Place them in a confined atmosphere in the shade for at least a couple of weeks
