What is this?????

Hey guys, i need your experties on id'ing this thing for the lack of a better word.  Is it a bug ??? a cocoon ??? I have absolutly no idea so i hope you guys can help me out.  Ive found 1 on every1 of my tomato plants, should i flick them off???

Found one in my greenhouse today.  It's the pupa of a hoverfly, an all round good thing to have!  8)

I figured it was a cocoon of some sort cus it had hatched fri night/sat morning.  I feel a bit bad flicking of the first few that i found :(  Well i will know better for next year!  Its nice to know what came out of the cocoon tho so thx Uncle_Filthster :)
