harvesting main crop spuds?

Is anyone harvesting their mains yet?. A couple of guys on our allotment have done so.  One guy has deseree to die.  I've got a bit of blight but removing the offending leaves.  Wanted.to.leave them in ground to Sept if possible to get them as big as possible.

I have only just lifted my first four roots of earlies.

Just another 16 roots to go then I get on to my 2 nd earlies which I treat as main crop!

Then I will get on to my PFA' s

In total the lot will last me till next March/ April time.

Have to say my earlies are brilliant ( Rocket)

Much the same as Tee Gee not into my seconed earlies yet and wont be for some time.
My Rocket were also a very good crop, to many chips out of one spud

Well was quite surprised myself.

Cut the tops off our desiree with a view to harvesting before we go away mid august. Ours went in in march, huge crop already, 112 lb from one 12x4 bed , kestrels. The desiree look to be similar, although we have a bit of scab  :)

I'm not sure :-\
Last year I cut a lot of tops off to stop blight, then left them and dug up later. This made it hard to dry them off and I think this contibuted to them getting so frosted in the cold weather :-\

I plant a lot of spuds so I think I will start to dig up even if the individual potato could get bigger if left :)
