You see something new all the time---------

Last W/E I was standing by my small pool watching a newt when a young blackbird shot out of a nearby hedgrow and went into the water. On it's tail was a sparrowhawk who plucked it from the surface, landed at the poolside by my feet for a few seconds before flying off with the bb.
It took a few minutes before I could close my mouth!

Nature's not always pretty is it.  The other week we watched a woodpecker pecking a hole in the bat box I'd hung up at the allotments, only to pull out the bluetit chicks that were living inside.

On the other hand I saw a peewee dart through the sky and catch a cabbage butterfly. I cheered!
