How far apart should fancy breeds of Sweetcorn be?  Or, put it another way, how CLOSE can they be & not interfere with each other??

This came up a few weeks ago and someone said 25 feet.  Though what that is based on I do not know.  Last year I planted two varieties separated by a beanfence and they were fine.  But it must depend on the variety too.

The extent of any problem also depends on whether the two varieties of sweetcorn are in the same group( possible colour contamination) or are from different groups ( possible colour, sweetness, taste and texture problems).
Sadly, most seedpackets do not give much info on which group they are from.
There is some info as to the different groups here :- http://www.growyourown.info/page129.html
and there is more info on Wiki.

Thanks for all that.

Sorry not to Search for the answer first, but Daughter was hell bent on getting them in.

Greatly helpful.

When I grew two different types, I put them twenty yards or so apart, and had no problems.
