Burnt-on rhubarb chutney!

I made rhubarb chutney at the weekend in a large Le Creuset pan, the sort with an enamelled interior. Unfortunately some of it got burnt onto the bottiom of the pan. I've had it soaking for ages, and last night I left it with bicarb in the bottom, but it's not made much impact. Any ideas, please?

washing powder (stuff you wash clothes with) add a couple of spoon fulls and leave to soak for a few days.
this has worked on mine when i burnt something into mine if you get any staining then just wipe with neat bleach and wash again.

I do as cambourne says and then if that doesn't work put some more washpowder in and put back on the stove, but don't let it boil dry!!! ;)

My old mum used to boil rhubarb leaves in a burnt saucepan. It always loosened the  remains.

Not just any washing powder.  Has to be one like Ariel with the "biological" action.  I use it to soak oven dishes to remove the crusty bits.  Saves a lot of elbow grease and scratches from pan scrubs.

Love the idea of rhubarb leaves and will give that go next time I burn a pan.
