I have an apricot tree in the garden which is about 6 years old. It is a lovely looking tree but each year it drops all its fruit at about pea size.

Not many fertilised - probably only about 15 or so and all fell off. No sign of disease.

Any ideas?

Maybe it's not strong enough to mature the fruit?

this is one of two apricot trees we have grown from pits....
we have found that these do NOT like too much pruning,,, apart from that they go on their merry way...
we do dormant spray, these are in Ontario, Canada... qahtan

This could be lots of things. Firstly what sort of apricot is it? Does it blossom well and then not set fruit or is blossom poor? Are the leaves ok or are they stunted? Is it against a wall and too dry? Difficult to know without a photo but these are a few possibilities. Usually stone fruit such as plums and apricots are stimulated by a cold winter so your tree ought to be doing well.My tree is about 7 years old and has been loaded for the last three years Hope this helps...Send a pic and we'll have a look and see if anything else might be a problem. Regards  :)
