Anyone recognise this plant, I bought a liquorice plant from saddad's sale a couple of years ago. this plant came up again last year and I'm not sure if it's that or a peanut plant, I had both growing in there  ???

Looks a bit like a vetch or clover.  Does it have tendrils?

Just read your comment, so I wonder if that's what a peanut looks like.

no, no tendrils, I've transplanted it twice so it's some sort of perennial, no flowers as yet.  sorry about the picture, I've got those glasses that go dark in the sunlight so couldn't see what I was looking at  ;D

Looks like it could be liquorice but they are bad photos that don't show the diagnostic features of legumes.  Peanut has fewer leaflets.  ;)

The leaf structure reminds me of the liquorice... but mine keeled over last year so I can't send a comparison..  :-[

If you google both peanut plant and licorice plant - they look very similar to this. Both are from the legume family.

Guess you are going to have to wait and see....

Peanut is an annual and licorice a perennial - however I guess it's more likely to be licorice unless you left a pea in the ground last year.

oops, yes, I think it's the liquorice  :)
grows into a shrub about a metre in height  :o
it's planted in the polytunnel border, I may have to relocate it in autumn  ;D
